I have been working at Western Express full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

They will take you with little experience, they don't even require a road test. They will feed, house and pay you during orientation.

    Cons

Driver trainers are angry broken people and will be personally offended with mistakes you make and many you don't make, like you wanted to make them or you did it just to anger them. Then they will berate you nonstop until it causes you to make more mistakes. Then threaten to fail you if you don't have a sunny disposition while they are doing this.
.The company says they want you to report safety issues but use your best judgement there. I don't know how anyone makes any money, no one knows where empty trailers are and they give you loads that are already late so you spent 24 hours on a parking lot waiting for a new dock appointment.
Shippers have lost respect for the company, I saw a memo on one of their whiteboards that said "give your old loads to Western". They take advantage of nice agreeable drivers and give them the crap runs because they know they won't complain.
IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION DO THAT.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give some teaching method classes to driver trainers, put tracking devices on your trailers. Get Qualcomms mounted on the dash with routing solutions for city congestion and traffic jams. Get some logistical software that keeps drivers from spending 3-24 hours sitting around. They could be making a lot more money then they are.
