I worked at Western & Southern Financial

    Pros

If you work at the corporate headquarters the meals are free and the people are friendly for the most part. Many are willing to tell you how to get to the next level in your career.

    Cons

The culture is old and archaic. Casual day means you can take off your tie. Education benefits are great, but they do not help you get to the next level that requires the education. Often they would promote a college drop-out who talks louder than a college graduate just because of the volume of said drop-out's voice. Working there 5 years set my career back 10 years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Accountability starts at the top. If the company or division is not performing, you don't start changing the culture from the bottom up. It starts from the top down. If you are going to invest in employees education, establish processes to help the use that investment at your company rather than seeking opportunities elsewhere.
