    I have been working at Western and Southern Life full-time (more than 3 years)


    -Fortress like balance sheet
    -Company does not lay off people (which is part of the problem)
    -Decent pay
    -Free lunch
    -CEO is top-notch. An inspirational guy who the company is very fortunate to have.


    W&S is comprised of multiple businesses. These remarks pertain to IFS only.

    -Sales desk management has no outside experience--Legacy employees who moved up as the division grew.
    -Due to the company not willing to fire anyone, many incompetent associates including managers, V.P's, etc.. (trust me).
    -Terrible bathroom situation. Two stalls for a floor which houses 80+ associates.
    -Senior management (not the top executives) are there to ride out until retirement--were fortunate the company grew and they kept their roles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Fire the employees who could not find a comparable job in the Financial Services Industry. Continue to hire outside managers (such as the recent hire who has prudently made some changes).
