I have been working at Whole Foods Market part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    -Co workers are awesome
    -Discount
    -Flexible schedules
    -Incentives and gifts for employees
    -Integrity
-Easy transfers in or outside the store

    Cons

    -Customers.
People buy more than just food at this company, they also buy the ideas it stands for. Customers think that shopping at Whole Foods somehow makes them "earth conscious" or "food conscious". The individual responsibility is gone becasue they shop at a company that is doing its part for the evnironment. Higher cost for goods means you are mainly dealing with the entitled "high class", who treat cashiers like dirt. Most won't even look you in the eye or even respond when you greet them. Some people are truly offended by kindness and don't have any room for it.

-Logically inconsistant sales pratices and core values.
The company says they value organics and the health of its buyers but still offer tons of GMO items.
They don't sell cigarettes but push alcohol like crazy

-"Open door policy" just make sure you don't say anything negative.

-Not to much room to advance unless you want to transfer or wait it out for an open spot.

    - Pay is decent but could be better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company is operating on only a fraction of its real potential to help better and maintain human health. Get rid of GMO's all together or have greater trasnparency in the products you are offering. Pay your workers better, you can afford it.
