I've worked at WFM for 2 years. I've worked on different teams and has numerous leadership overhauls.

I have been working at Whole Foods Market full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I enjoy helping people, having the freedom to sample products, and getting a living wage. The majority of my coworkers are friendly and easy going.

    Cons

I am currently in the Army National Guard. WFM does not seen to be a military friendly employer. I can count on one hand (between 2 metro stores in Nashville) how many service members work for WFM, with only one having a leadership position. I visited other locations throughout the country and this seems to hold true.
It's hard to obtain buyer/supervisor positions (the fastest way to a decent raise) which opens the path to leadership.
Raises at my store are usually the lowest available ($.50 out of $1.50 annually) which is opposite of the other store close by(they do significantly more business, but we operate 15% under projections)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I know more about my rights as a service member than the PBS(payroll/Human resources). Every time I get orders for duty I have to fight her just to do her job to process the paperwork. EVERY. TIME.
Please teach your Team Leaders(department managers) to utilize and value prior leadership experience.
