They say they value team member happiness, my experience says otherwise.

Former Employee - Produce Production (Cut Fruit) Team Member in Saint Paul, MN

I worked at Whole Foods Market part-time for less than a year

Long paid training period, occasional free food.

This is the only job I've ever had in which my work ethic has been constantly brought into question. Myself and many of my coworkers come in on time, follow the rules, and work hard- in return there is no positive feedback, team members are expected to do more and more work in the dame amount of time, often with inadequate, broken, or missing equipment. Not living up to these unrealistic expectations leads to a constant stream of warnings. No communication is given to attempt to solve problems outside of these warnings. The pay is very poor for the unrealistic expectations placed on workers. Benefits are almost non-existent for workers who are part time, despite the lack of opportunities for full time work. The company has values until they cut into their bottom line. It might be one of the best companies to work for if you're a team leader, but otherwise you're stuck doing all the work to pay for the salaries and benefits of the higher ups. The team leaders in my department have consistently shown a lack of compassion and regard for their employees, and at times have been downright disrespectful. Eight months with this company is eight months too long, I don't recommend this job to any decent hardworking individual who wants a career that they don't dread showing up to.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show some respect for your employees on the bottom. If you actually cared about team member happiness as much as you profess to this may not have been such an unbearable place to work at.
