I have been working at World Wide Technology full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

I am a long time employee of WWT. While I love the work I do, I could do it in a wide variety of organizations. I have stayed with WWT for over 10 years not because of what I do, but because of who I do it with! The people within this organization are phenomenal. I work with some of the most intelligent, driven and hard working people I have ever known. No task is beneath anyone, there is no one here that acts like they are too good, or too big to get their hands dirty and get involved. There are no 'talkers', only 'doers' I feel a true sense of pride and accomplishment just about every day. An incredible sense of TEAM and PEOPLE FIRST. Leadership of this organization not only recognizes their employees, they participate in the 'doing' at every turn.

    Cons

Nothing is perfect, no job or organization is perfect. WWT could do better with certain things. Their rapid growth has presented challenges when it comes to office space and other amenities. They have been slow to react to their growth in this regard. Additionally they could be more competitive with salaries with existing employees. As a long time employee, my salary growth has been slow. I feel that those that leave and come back to WWT have gotten substantial pay increases, while those that have stayed are locked into a very marginal yearly increase. I understand and agree that salary should have no tie to tenure...but seldom have I seen out of the norm increases for top performance. Salary negotiations are always a battle.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take action on the office space within St. Louis. We have had 100+ employees in a sub-optimal work space for over two years! Buy the property and renovate or move...quit delaying. Also, if you want to stay on the Fortune GPTW, you really need to give more consideration and action to the employee requests like a cafeteria, gym, daycare, etc. These are suggested over and over again but it seems like they are 'blown off' by leadership. I have traveled and seen the amenities provided by many different organizations large and small, WWT is falling behind! Do not be so quick to scoff at these requests, they are huge difference makers! Last, take a good look at how employees are compensated year over year. Top performers often leave this company because of the 'standard' increase you provide. Managers need to be given to opportunity to provide substantial increases where necessary for top performers. The market moves much faster than your pay scale.
