I have been working at XPO Logistics full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great atmosphere with a decent work/life balance. We do a lot for the community, charity walks and stuff like that...they promote themselves well in the community.

    Cons

You work like crazy and then when it comes time for a raise they look at you like you should feel blessed to work there. Then you don't get a raise b/c your not meeting their unrealistic expectations, or if you are meeting their crazy goals they change them b/c your "making too much $$". When they realize their goals are way out in left field they don't rein them, they wait till the next year to adjust. Everything they do is take care of their shareholders which is no one in the company outside of "C" level execs. Your basically working to be the steps for everyone else above you. They like the entrepreneurial minded people, which is awesome...but they tend to crush that out of you. In the end don't plan on getting any stock options that would help keep that entrepreneurial fire in you...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to the companies Forbes continually ranks as the top places to work and follow their example. Employees come first to them..b/c most of them, the employees are also the shareholders. If not you'll get more frustrated employees looking to jump ship and go where they feel more valued. This is not a mid-level manager thing this is the perceived notion of the lack of carrying coming from the top
