I have been working at YAI National Institute full-time
The work is rewarding and the individuals will teach you much about life. Coworkers are often helpful and supportive. Also, you learn a lot about your own strengths and weaknesses and how to use them.
The biggest drawback is the salary especially in the city. The field must find away to increase salaries or run the risk of not having enough people in the near future. Really cannot raise a family on this salary.
Advice to Management
The commitment to the individuals is laudable; equal commitment to staff would be good. More advocacy for staff to the state and also room for advancement that does not per sa mean becoming a supervisor would be beneficial.
