I have been working at YMCA part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The work is pretty brainless, all you have to do is sit in a chair and watch people swim. The shifts are only 4-5 hours which is great if you're a college student. The people who work for the Y are great and you really feel like you're part of a community.

    Cons

You work minimum wage and they will reduce your paycheck if you work over a certain number of hours a week. I haven't gotten a raise in 5 years. Despite the short shifts, lifeguarding gets really boring after awhile.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be aware of those who have been with the company for a long time and compensate them as such.
