    I have been working at Yankee Candle full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Breaks including clocked in and clocked out
    PTO accrued for part time and given for full time
    Benefits are best I've seen in any company I've worked for
    Moving up is easily done with interim second store manager opportunities
    GREAT management training (I should know, I experienced it)
    Family feel to team in the store
    Discount is great for candles
    HUGE focus on knowing the history of the company and the product in order to help the customers and gain their trust in your knowledge

    Cons

    ASAP selling is pushy and not good customer service. Yankee's idea of customer service is not to help the customer's experience, but to make them spend as much money as possible.
    Training videos are very outdated and need to be redone with better "actors" and scripts. Or at least people who know how to read cue cards.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Update selling technique to actually involve good customer service. I hate training people in ASAP selling because of my history with customer service and my complete and utter dissatisfaction of ASAP selling.

    NEW VIDEOS! The videos are so cheesy and terrible. Plus the product knowledge video has things we don't even carry anymore. That video, at the very least, needs to be updated once a year.
