    Very disappointed

    I worked at Youth Villages

    Pros

Unfortunately there isn't a lot of good things to say about the company. I would say if you are fresh out of college this would be a place to gain experience, and you will soon find out if the field is a good match for you. The coworkers you work with are pretty cool.

    Cons

The worst part of this job is management and how they handle crisis. Many times management will text during stressful situations instead of helping staff. The clients that they take on in Oregon are generally very traumatized or violent and act out often. Be very cautious when thinking about accepting a job with this company. New employees generally last a day or two, to a few months. If you're really desperate, like I was, I took the job and stayed for a year or so. Some of my coworkers were fiercely retaliated against for speaking their mind about the cleanliness standards, which are very low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees, and stop retaliating!
