    I have been working at Zendesk full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    In general, Zendesk values self-managing types who proactively identify and correct problems. For the intrinsically motivated, this can be highly rewarding, and can result in a great deal of freedom.

    Cons

    Because employees are expected to be self-driven, getting your manager involved in your day to day work can be difficult. The weak hierarchy means that you have to collaborate with others in order to get things done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    More transparency around the strategy and direction of specific teams. The company goals are made extremely clear, but it remains to be seen exactly how those goals translate into the priorities and activities of the various teams.
