    I worked at Zions Bancorporation full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    There are a lot of good people at the bancorp with good ideas and passion for excellence - I continue to have great connections with these people. Great programs for employee retention - I had a budget to take my team out to lunch on a quarterly basis. Good respect for work-life balance.

    Cons

    Exec & Senior IT management in Tech and Operations are not what I would describe as great or even good leaders and they can exhibit terrible communications. At times they seem to be driven more by reaction to audit and compliance instead of innovation or business values. Some would describe this as a very politicized environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to employees, there is actually a.wealth of creativity among the worker bees.
    If you're in a 1:1 with a direct report, don't multi-task, sorry that should be obvious.
    Annual Reviews should cover the entire year, not the last 3 months.
    Imagine a skip-level with the CIO or CTO..... would they condescend to that?
