I have been working at Zoot Enterprises full-time (more than 5 years)

A lot of great people to work with, you can bring your dog to work, onsite cafeteria, nice setting that is great for walks (when the weather is nice).

Almost no career development and very little incentive to stay at the company. Employees are not valued and owner has told entire company, at a staff meeting, to leave if they don't like how he runs it (it is his company but not a way to build devotion among employees). Experienced employees keep leaving for other jobs in the valley and almost everyone talks about leaving - almost never talk to someone that is excited about the company. Senior management talks about positive change but they either don't follow through or they implement change in a way that hurts rather than helps. Company often over hires and then let's people quit when business is slow - again losing experienced employees and lowering morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Company has software that could have potential but is seasoned employees keep leaving for better paying jobs and/or job dissatisfaction. Need to find a way to recruit and keep talent at the company. All managers should be reviewed by there employees to identify ineffective managers that are lowering morale in the work force. Owner should step back from decision making and hire an effective CEO - preferably from outside the company that has proven success in taking a company like Zoot to the next level.
