PHOENIX LITHOGRAPHING CORPORATION, a commercial printing company, has an immediate opening for a PRINT PRODUCTION PLANNER / CUSTOMER SERVICE representative for its Northeast Philadelphia facility.
This is a full-time position. Experience is absolutely required. Must be willing to work some overtime as needed.
Overview of the position:
The print production planner / customer service rep works with the sales executive to oversee the production of each client’s project from inception through shipping. Organizational, administrative and other tasks required to manage the relationship between Phoenix and the client for all aspects of the project are part of this role. In addition, the successful candidate will represent Phoenix in related planning discussions, help monitor quality control, and manage issue resolution.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Apply knowledge of client’s business to partner with Sales to assess and develop processes to deliver on service quality and solutions development for the customer. Communicate the requirements throughout the life of the project.
- Layout and job ticket planning – all aspects of the printing process, including securing paper, ink, press and bindery layouts, shipping coordination, etc. Primary resource and back up for the Sales group. Provide solutions, develop pricing and provides original/revised job requirements to Planning.
- As the primary point of contact, manage high profile, complex and/or major accounts.
- Enter orders into production; issue and revise instructions for manufacturing
- Coordinate the delivery of customer-supplied and other production materials
- Maintain active communication with and provide job status updates to customer, sales and manufacturing.
- Facilitate the resolution of production-related issues
- Check progress of project to ensure that it conforms to specs and that procedures, methods, and deadlines have been met.
Required skills:
- Strong technical printing skills – layouts, equipment functionality, substrates knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through years of applicable work experience.
- Strong project management skills, organizational skills and time-management skills.▪
- Able to apply broad work experience and knowledge when problem solving, analyze potential solutions and use good sound judgment to make decisions.
- Strong attention to detail is required.
- Strong commitment to ensuring quality and exceeding customer satisfaction expectations.
- Must be able to organize/prioritize existing resources and incorporate new information, as needed, to implement the most effective solutions.
- Must be able to apply excellent functional computer knowledge in utilizing Microsoft Windows, MAC, or other technical tools in completing assignments.
- Knowledge of Enterprise software a plus.
Required experience:
- Previous experience in commercial printing -- sheetfed, heatset web and coldset web, digital preferred.
