    I have been working at mindSHIFT full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Ability to Learn Many Disciplines
    Relaxed work atmosphere

    Cons

    No Career Path for Growth

    Pays Under Market Value

    Management grabs unwarranted credit for employees success while keeping them at arms length when things go wrong.

    Reviews are laughable at best - no correlation to merit increases.

    Mom & Pop Mentality Persists Through The Company

    No Central Database of Information.

    No-one is held Accountable - Major offenses are met with a slap on the wrist and a nod and a wink.

    HR is an absolute joke. Does not advocate for the benefit of the employee, rather it bends to the influence of management.

    Lack of Caring By Management about employees work/life balance. Schedules are changed at a moment's notice. Management's stance is "You guys can Man up or Find a New Job".

    Issues are dealt with a Band Aid then kicked down the road.

    No Proactive Leadership By Division Heads or Managers

    Atmosphere of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it..." as opposed to "What Can We Do Better Today?"

    Management does Not Care About The Customer's best interests.

    Lack of Company Morale - Common Quote from a middle manager is "Do you know where you work? This is BLINDshift, where technology goes to DIE"

    Lack of Proper Change Management - Client Impacting changes are done in the middle of the day and noted as "LOW IMPACT CHANGE" because the engineers do no want to work after hours. When client environments inevitably go down, the engineers just reverse the change and spin a yarn to the client about "The Carrier Had An Upstream Issue".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Offer Employees A Career Path for growth and stick to it, instead of making empty promises.

    Make reviews mean something - Great reviews should equal better pay and promotion opportunities, not 1% increases and a promise of "maybe in 6 months things will change for the better".

    The culture of no accountability HAS to change.

    Implement Proper Change Control Processes. Smoke and mirrors can only serve as a detriment to the company.

    Take the time to analyze ATTRITION by our client base.
