I have been working at mindSHIFT full-time (More than a year)
The NOC only has one good manager and his return has helped ease things. He knows how hard his team works as shows them that he appreciates them by not micromanaging. He understands the team he has and how they can handle the work load that he does not have to micromanage.
The other management on the other hand needs to take a moment and listen to the team so that they learn from them. I think if they would stop trying to fill the room with just anyone and truly find people that would compliment the other team members currently in the room. The NOC would grow to as strong as the members that left the room, not to long ago. Filling the room with people that don't have the knowledge or the skill makes the entire NOC appear unskilled. It takes away from those that are truly skilled at their job. If the NOC is seen as one, why not fill it with people that benefit the over all look of the NOC. Instead of just filling the room because we need bodies that will work when other don;t want to work.
Advice to Management
Take the time to listen to current staff on who cuts it and who does not before the 90 day grace period and remove those that can't handle the work before its to late. It does nothing but diminish the skill of those who want to learn and who are capable of handling the expectations from management.
