Machine Shop Coordinator - Estimator - Senior

Shop Coordinator - Estimator - Senior - Basic Duties and Responsibilities:
· The Coordinator is expected to be highly knowledgeable about all aspects of Machine Shop manufacturing process with at least 5 years of experience in metal fabrication.
· The Coordinator shall interface and liaise with the customer for all incoming work.
· For manufacturing planning and estimating purposes, the coordinator must be knowledgeable in but not limited to CNC machining, water jet operations, punch operations, metal forming and fabrication, and fiberglass/ composite repair.
· The coordinator shall estimate all incoming work and provide good advisory support to customers, accurately assess tasks and project problems in advance.
· The coordinator will have a working relationship with shop lead and supervisor, procurement personnel, technicians, and inspectors in order to ensure that work is completed most efficiently with respect to cost and schedule, create material kits for processing are available when needed by technicians to meet customer requirements and oversee or assess efficiency and end-quality of project tasks.
· In addition to the necessary technical knowledge, the Coordinator shall work closely with the Design Team (Design engineers, Designer, and Drafter) to accomplish all tasks.
Shop Coordinator - Estimator - Senior - Sample Responsibilities:
The Machine Shop Coordinator has the following tasks:
· Interface with the Customer.
· Coordinate Due Dates
· Provide Cost Estimates, including the following
· Review drawings including notes
· Determine amount of work required
· Document in a Quote
· Create material list for procurement of materials
· Contact the Customer if any problems arise.
· Interface with inventory and procurement personnel to ensure that all materials are available when needed by Artisans
· Support Engineering Team
· Mechanical Design consultation.
· Route work requests requiring design and /or review to Engineering Team
· Procurement Support
· Provide Quality Assurance of Parts
· Maintain Records
· Communicate with management and facility personnel, providing information on project status and expected completion dates.
· Reads blue prints, sketches and specifications to plan and layout various projects.
· Inspects work in progress and upon completion to assure all requirements are met.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Shop Coordinator - Estimator - Senior - Qualifications:
· To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
· Must be able to obtain Secret security clearance.
Shop Coordinator - Estimator - Senior - Knowledge:
· Must be capable of reading blueprints and make accurate measurements. Must have a general knowledge of the related trades. Computer savvy – Word, Excel and the ability to learn new programs.
Shop Coordinator - Estimator - Senior - Skills:
· Must be a highly skilled journeyman in one of the following trades: Machinist, Sheet Metal or Welding. Must be capable of planning and estimating time and materials for all jobs.
Shop Coordinator - Estimator - Senior - Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma or High School equivalency certification.
· Completion of a technical school, trade school or advanced technical school curriculum or course of training in mechanics, or engineering technology; or, completion of at least 24 semester hours of course studies at an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific or technical curriculum.
· Five (5) years of experience in performing the foregoing functions.
· Specific experience shall include documented knowledge of Engineering Drawing Standards, CNC programming standards, Corrosion control coatings including powder coating, and Composite damage assessment and repairs.
