    VOA is seeking an Electronic Health Records (EHR) Specialist that will act as a key member of a national capacity building team that works with local Affiliates in multiple states. This team supports the development, expansion and enhancement of substance use disorder programs for women and their children. The person in this role will report directly to the Vice President of Evaluation and Research and will play a pivotal role in developing an innovative model of family-focused care and demonstrating its effectiveness. The selected candidate will facilitate the collection and reporting of common and complementary data elements and metrics across program sites. Furthermore, this role fosters peer learning across Affiliates.

    This position is a grant-supported, full-time role (up to 40 hours per week)

    Primary Responsibilities:

    The selected candidate will...

    • Collaborate closely with VOA Affiliate staff to tailor electronic health records systems for comprehensive data collection, enabling the generation of reports covering client physical health, substance use, mental health, trauma history and social determinants of health
    • Assist in configuring EHR software to align with the specific needs and workflows of local programs, ensuring seamless integration and functionality
    • Act as a liaison with EHR developers on behalf of Affiliates, facilitating customizations in data collection and reporting to better serve program requirements
    • Cultivate a community of practice among data management professionals within participating Affiliates, promoting peer learning opportunities and professional development
    • Collect data from program sites to facilitate evaluations and business intelligence reporting and processes
    • Utilize data from VOA's Data Central (a customized Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Dataverse) to develop business intelligence dashboards and reports covering program activities, governance, and finances

    Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Strong proficiency in data management and analysis using Excel, R, or similar software, along with experience in constructing and executing SQL queries
    • Demonstrated expertise with business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI
    • Genuine interest in human services, health equity and areas pertinent to VOA services
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with customers, team members and other internal and external stakeholders
    • Meticulous attention to detail, adeptness in managing multiple projects simultaneously and proficiency in analytical, organizational and prioritization skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

    Education and Experience:

    • Completion of four years of post-secondary education in relevant fields such Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Public Administration or other relevant fields
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronic health record systems within social care or healthcare settings. Proficiency with client record platforms such as CareLogic is highly desirable

    The minimum salary is $70K and the max salary is $70K.
