    I worked at 1-800-Flowers.com as an intern (less than an year)


    Working at 1800flowers was a great learning experience for my future career. Many employees would give presentations to the interns on what their department's role is in the company. They also taught us how to present ourselves to employees on LinkedIn. We were all treated like actual employees, not the stereotypical intern who fetches coffee.


    The only con I could think of is the building. It's out of date, the air conditioning was broken for a couple weeks, and there were leaks from the ceiling. I don't drive, but the parking lot has structural damage, so no one could park there. To make up for this, they offer valet service and shuttle buses to another parking lot and to the Mineola train station.

    The hiring process is simple: applicants are given a variety of tests to determine eligibility. Then they interview with a current employee (someone serving in a holiday position mostly). Unless the test scores were below acceptable level, the applicant is hired on-the-spot and given a schedule for training.
