Lee Chen, Founder and CEO
Lee served most recently as co-founder and vice president of engineering at Foundry Networks. Lee was also a founding member of Centillion Networks (acquired by Nortel). He has held management and senior technical positions at Apple Computer, Convergent Technologies and InSync Group. He holds an M.S.E.E. from San Jose State University and a B.S. in Electrophysics from National Chiao-Tung University in Taiwan.

 

Raj Jalan, CTO

Raj Jalan, CTO
Raj has over 25 years of experience in the Networking Industry. Prior to A10 Raj was the lead  architect for Foundry Networks' ServerIron and L2/L3 switching product families. Before Foundry he worked on a wide range of Networking technologies from Ethernet, Token-Ring, ATM and Digital Switching Systems. Raj holds a number of patents related to L2/L3 as well as L4/L7 switching. He has a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.

 

Greg Straughn, CFO

Greg Straughn, CFO
Greg has over 30 years experience in the financial management of technology companies, serving as CFO for multiple organizations. At A10 Networks, Greg is responsible for Finance, Accounting and Human Resource Management. Prior to A10, Greg served for 12 years as CFO for Kabira Technologies, a provider of high-performance software products to the telecommunications and financial services market. Previously, he also served as CFO for AT&T/Pacific Bell Internet Services, Principal and General Manager for Meridian Business Systems and CFO for PacTel Finance. Greg holds a B.S. in Finance from UC Berkeley and is the author of several books on financial and general management of small businesses.

 

Rob Cochran, Vice President, Legal and Corporate Collaboration

Rob Cochran, Vice President, Legal and Corporate Collaboration
Rob has 29 years of experience serving as corporate and general legal counsel for emerging technology companies. Immediately prior to A10, for 17 years Rob was principal of a boutique law firm based in Woodside, California, where he specialized in the representation of growth corporations, and the investors funding such ventures. During this period, Rob served on the Board of Directors of numerous private corporations, and Techwell, Inc. (formerly NASDAQ: TWLL). Earlier in his career, Rob was an International Mergers and Acquisition advisor, and Vice President and General Counsel of Mosel-Vitelic, Inc. (one of the first Silicon Valley technology companies to reorganize and successfully achieve public trading on a foreign public stock exchange). Rob started his career as a corporate securities lawyer with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, P. C. Rob has a B.A. in Economics from Harvard College and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Ray has over 25 years of success leading high-growth teams in the IT, telecom, networking and security markets. Most recently, Ray was Senior Vice President of Field Operations, Sales and International Development for Metaswitch Networks, Inc. Prior to Metaswitch, he was Vice President and General Manager at Cisco Systems, leading its global Wireless/Mobility business unit. Ray also held executive positions at Packeteer Inc., Netopia Inc. and McAfee Security. He also served 15 years at BellSouth Corporation (acquired by AT&T) where he became VP of Network Transformation and Corporate Officer. He holds an M.B.A degree from Nova-Southeastern University, a B.S. degree in Computer Engine

Joyce has more than 20 years of success in business development and sales management with technology companies such as Foundry Networks, Bay Networks, Xylogics and Tri Data. Prior to joining A10, she was a successful entrepreneur and served as founder and president of Jetlites, Inc., an award-winning maker of high-performance sports lighting technologies.

Hayato Koeda, President & CEO for A10 Networks KK, and Vice President of South Asia
Hayato is a seasoned business leader and held senior management positions at various IT companies, including Aspect Software Japan, Dell Japan, Motive Japan and Openwave Systems Japan. Most recently, Hayato was Representative Director for Aspect Software where he was responsible for spearheading the overall operations in Japan. Hayato holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Nippon University in Japan. He is a former member of the Japan National Ski Team.

Kirsten has more than 20 years of experience in channel management for companies ranging from startups to Fortune 10. Most recently Kirsten comes from HP where she was Vice President of Worldwide Channel Marketing for the Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking (ESSN) organization. Prior to joining HP, Kirsten served as Vice President of Worldwide Channel and Field Marketing at Blue Coat, Vice President of Worldwide Channel Sales at Packeteer, and has held various prior positions in Sales and Marketing at Net Manage, Caldera Systems and The Santa Cruz Operation.

Anurag Narula, Vice President of Engineering (Software)

Anurag has over 25 years of management and engineering experience focused in the areas of networking, security software, and client server application software development. Prior to A10, Anurag was Senior Director of Engineering for Cisco's Services and Routing Technology Group, responsible for driving the direction and strategy for integrated WAN optimization services and security solutions. Prior to Cisco, Anurag was the VP of Engineering for Mirapoint and over his career held numerous engineering and management positions at Silicon Graphics, Hewlett Packard and Intel. Anurag holds a M.S. in Computer Science from University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Engineering from Birla Institute of Tech & Science.

Eric Kwok, Sr. Director Global Support

Eric Kwok, Sr. Director of Worldwide Support

Eric has 20 years of experience in the networking and telecom industry. He has held senior management and technical support engineering positions in a variety of technology companies such as Brocade (through the Foundry Networks acquisition), AT&T, Verizon and IBM. He is also a partner with XF Ventures, a team of former Foundry Networks Executives who provide access to seed capital along with technical help, operational expertise and strategic mentorship to promising business teams and start-ups. Eric holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University.

James Cai, Vice President of Sales and General Manager for China

James Cai, Vice President of Sales and General Manager for China

James Cai is a highly qualified business manager with over 15 years of experience in general management, product and program management, high-touch channel sales and business development in China. Most recently, James was General Manager for Motorola's Wireless Networks Business Unit in China. Prior to Motorola, he was Vice President of Sales and Channel Management for Alcatel-Lucent in addition to holding various executive positions at UTStarcom and ZTE. James is a graduate of The Southeast University, Nanjing, China.

    Very good working environment. Lots of new stuff to get to work on.

    Sometimes its a bit chaotic as there is not former process for release planning.

    I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at A10 Networks (San Jose, CA).

    Interview

    I was called through Employee referral. I talked to one of the Engineer on team for phone screen, which was very easy. At Onsite, You will be first asked to give 1 hour exam. There were 5 interviewers. First interviewer was a leader in a company and I was very offended the way he was talking to me. His way of interviewing was very disrespectful and he seemed pretty uninterested to talk to me. After that, all other interviews were quite average and overall interview experience was good except first one. Didn't received an offer, which I won't have any way accepted if they would have offered. By overall interview experience, people seemed knowledgeable, but very egoistic, which was one of the reasons, I would have declined offer if they would have offered me.

    • Standard QA exam, Life cycle of bug, Script to check if a remote host is reachable using ping. Advanced level TCP/P questions (MTU, How ping works in network, NAT, VLAN, HTTP headers)   Answer Question
