I have been working at AFSC full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

As long as I am doing my job successfully, I am pretty much left alone. If I have any ideas about what works best, etc. the company is very good at listening to my concerns and advice. They occasionally send me gifts in the mail which I thoroughly enjoy. If I need time off, it's not a big deal as long as I plan accordingly. They have been more than flexible with me and I would love to keep working with them for the next few years if possible.

    Cons

I just wish there was more sick/vacation leave. I get two weeks a year and it goes for both sick and vacation leave. I also wish there was a little more training. I was kind of just thrown into my job and if there are any changes, I basically just deal with it. I’m okay with doing that but some other people in the local areas aren’t as good at taking the responsibility of training themselves. It is government contracting so when the contract is up and someone else comes in and takes over, it kinda sucks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

So far, I love the management here. Cindy Dillard is such a fantastic leader. I'm very happy with the leadership here and their abilities to guide and support you compared to a dictatorship.

    Interview Details

I initially had the phone interview with the recruiter. I am on the east and she the west so she called me mostly in the evening (7:00pm'ish). However, she set up an in-office interview Arlington (Shirlington), VA office. The recruiter let me know who I would be speaking with but I did not actually speak with those people. That said, I spoke with three individual that I would be working most close with as peers. After speaking with them I stayed and spoke with one of their directors. Everything took about 1.5 hours. After me trying over and over to get a hold of the recruiter I finally got a hold of her and she let me know they wanted to bring me in for another short (30 mins) interview with a VP. The recruiter let me know who I would be meeting with.. but again, was not the VP. It was a senior director who was not involved in the business I would be working. However, again I thought the interview went well. Also, again.. I could not get a hold of the recruiter. A week and half later.. nothing. I had been interviewing with other companies and had accepted another offer in the interim. I thought it was so unprofessional that the recruiter was so unhelpful and I was never interviewing with them individuals I was told.
