Great people, smart engineers, great benefits. Great pedigree from PalmSource and Be history, great potential in mobile software space. Many good efforts to standardize their software were attempted. Great patent portfolio.
Missed schedules, disappointed customers, frustrated employees. Market changes more quickly than ACCESS could respond to it. Move to Linux was good, but competition caught up. Royalty model was good, but then Google gave Android away for free.
Advice to Management
Too late. Missed the market opportunity.
Getting an Interview
Getting an Interview
- Declined OfferNegative ExperienceEasy Interview
I applied online. The process took 1 day – interviewed at Access Company in August 2014.
Yahoo Messenger interview, afterwards checked with supervisor and offered me a position. They offered me the position and listed software and hardware I would have to acquire. I asked how this would be done and (shocker) got a bit of a run around. I pressed the issue explaining my hesitation, but what really set me against it was they wanted to send me a check that I would use to pay for the items via Western Union or MoneyGram.
Those are used to Launder Money, if not scam you into a legally binding contract.
DO NOT ACCEPT THIS JOB FROM THEM!

Reasons for Declining
The way they would work is they would send me a check and I purchase equipment through a 'preferred vendor' and pay with Western Union or MoneyGram.
Those are frequently used to launder money, it seemed too good to be true, but I continued... turned out it was.
DO NOT BE A PART OF THIS COMPANY!!! For an internet/software company to rely on Western Union or MoneyGram means they are either up to something fishy or truly incompetent.
NOT WORTH YOUR TIME!
