ACQUIRENT'S MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
Mission Statement:The Purpose of the Acquirent Mentor Program is to provide employee development at a personal and professional level to every single one of our employees. It links employees with mentors who are fully invested in their growth. In addition, it fosters open communication between all levels of employees within Acquirent.
The original Acquirent mentorship program was created in Acquirent’s first year as a way to foster growth and development within the sales force. Initially we paired young, hungry sales professionals with more seasoned sales professionals, outside of our organization, who had experienced success in their careers. The program's purpose was to serve as another resource for our sales executives to continue their education around sales through collaboration with others who have walked in their shoes. In fact, this program introduced Joseph Flanagan to Acquirent as he mentored many of our early sales professionals before getting involved with the company.
Today the program continues to serve as a platform for Acquirent employees to interact and learn from one another. At a minimum, mentors meet with their mentees outside of the Acquirent office once a month to discuss best practices, how to identify and improve upon their weaknesses, and account specific issues. Additional, the mentors provide as needed feedback and support throughout a sales executive's career at Acquirent. The program has been a great success for our employees and is an important part of our culture. Acquirent mentorship reinforces that training and development never ends for our sales professionals.
GOALS OF THE PROGRAM:
Help new hires “learn the ropes” by providing he/she with insight and answering questions about our culture, policies and expectations.
Create an avenue for Senior Employees to share guidance, experience, and knowledge with employees.
Create open communication channels between all levels of employees within Acquirent, and act as a filter, when the situation dictates, to pass information along to upper level management.
Help each individual employee identify and improve upon their weaknesses and strengths
Propel the success of each employee at Acquirent
Build loyalty to reduce turnover, increase employees’ drive to succeed (i.e. passion), and retain intellectual capital.
Identify valued employees so their talent does not go underutilized, and is retained.
Open up another avenue for positive reinforcement to build confidence and the right attitude.

To provide employees with resources enabling them to better participate in the communities they choose to serve and, when appropriate, provide opportunities for employees to get involved with local not-for-profit organizations in Chicago and Evanston, with the intent to better our local communities and help team members build networks and bring awareness to the causes in which they believe.

I have only been here for a short time, but have been welcomed by everyone that I have come into contact with. Being a young professional, you are among many people in the same situation or experience level. I have never worked at a company that has the CEO and VP right in the middle of the sales floor. They are among the salespeople and are constantly selling as well. There seems to be a lot of support both within training and within the friendly competitiveness on each account.Cons
The only real con I can see is there is not a whole lot of room for growth, but that comes with the territory of working for a company like Acquirent. Clients can hire you in directly, but that is the only true growth opportunity.
