I worked at Adnexus, a Bristol-Myers Squibb R&D Co. as a contractor for less than a year

In short, this place cares about you as a person. Period. The people are incredibly nice, the atmosphere is relaxed, and there are so many great little perks. Food is plentiful. Lots of team events. Overall just a positive vibe.

On the way out, Bristol-Myers had started to apply their own internal politics to the scene. This led to many people getting let go that really brought the place to life. In addition, as a contractor looking to go perm, it became clear a few months in that going full-time would never happen which what sealed my fate there.

The nexus of intercellular communication is protein, and Adnexus plans to capitalize on that. The company makes protein-based drugs called Adnectins, which it believes deliver disease-fighting results superior to antibodies and small molecules. The Adnectins, when combined with the company's PROfusion protein-generation system, combat cancer and musculo-skeletal, cardiovascular, neurodegenerative, and autoimmune diseases.
