I have been working at Albany College of Pharmacy part-time (less than a year)

Great teachers, staff, and students. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and courteous. The professors, instructors, and rest of the teaching staff genuinely care about the learning needs and habits of their students. The students, while not always interested in the subjects that I taught (Math/Physics), worked hard and demonstrated a desire to learn. If you are looking to pick up some extra cash with a part-time teaching job then it is an awesome place to work.

Nothing major really. Actual physical contact/communication with professors about my duties as an adjunct/tutor was at times difficult, but was unnecessary for the majority of my work. In addition, the political environment between some of the professors and the higher ups (deans and such) appeared to be strained. The school as a whole seems to be undergoing a "dean-ification," which is spreading throughout most colleges/universities in the States these days. Lastly, the students can be very particular when it comes to grading, but at the same time they are under a fair amount of stress from classes, labs, and work, so this is a minor issue and exists probably at every college campus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work with part-time teaching staff to better connect them with professors to ensure that both are on the same page and to get input/critiques from the professors about adjunct/tutoring duties.
