    Pros

DuPont shift for some, decent pay, minimal hands on management. Multiple production units within site so operators in a plant with long downtime are moved around rather than fired. Union free.

    Cons

Minimal opportunities for growth, anemic bonuses, extreme differences in workload within similar departments, schism in company culture between rotating shift and weekday personnel, frequent staff turnarounds. Union free.

    Advice to Management

Beef up the bonus, align metrics across sites, lose the touchy feely training and get someone to make orientation and mentoring not worthless.

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency – interviewed at Albemarle (Pasadena, TX) in March 2015.

    Interview

Met with Lab Manager, Group Head and Researcher in a series of separate interviews. Interviews were applicable to job, about 30 min on average and were very informative. Facility tour was also available for second interview and was helpful in determining company culture and understanding the flow of work between labs.
