    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have a master's degree, but in a para-professional position we make the same amount of money as someone with and without a high school diploma. Education is important! This is what we teach our children and our parents. You should show your employees, teachers, and families that this is true. Something very small can make a big difference in the way people look at education in general.

    Application Details

I applied online – interviewed at Alief ISD.

    Interview Details

Alief ISD had several openings in my areas of certification. I had demonstrated great ability in teaching curriculum, administering assessments, and classroom management. My application was ignored for a few years. Finally I was given interviews, but the assistant principal or principal would fail to show up, ask weird questions, or over interview me.

    Interview Questions
    • My most unexpected question was from an assistant principal who recognized me, and who requested to speak with me about a position for which I had applied, but had not been given an interview. I was in the office for something else when she suddenly insisted that I speak with her, and that this could be my lucky day. She appeared satisfied with our discussion. However, she called two other supervising-administrative staff to "visit" with me. One of them was upset that he had been called away from where he was, and he exhibited a very negative attitude, over-questioning me to find fault with something in my response.   Answer Question
