"It is truly an honor to work at AlloSource. For the first time in my career, I am working for a company that is actually making the world a better place. Knowing that I am a small part of a company whose mission is to improve the quality of life of so many people makes it rewarding to go to work every day."
- Susan, Staff Accountant (hired January 2007)
"I think the most important thing for me working at AlloSource is the profoundly positive changes our products give people. There is no abstraction. Our purpose is clear and the result of our work has a dramatic effect on the patients who receive our grafts. The skin grafts we provide for various children's hospitals are particularly satisfying because I know the children need these treatments so desperately. To be part of something that gives hope to the family, friends and particularly the parents in the face of horrible tragedy is certainly worthwhile on every level of personal motivation."
- Jan, Office Manager/Administrative Assistant (hired March 2003)
"AlloSource is a great place to work. No where else have I ever experienced the effort and dedication AlloSource makes to ensure the employees are happy, heard, and informed. When we have something to contribute people listen and actually care about what we have to say. We have plenty of opportunities to get involved, from task force and strategy groups to social committees which are organized for the sole purpose of bringing employees to together to have fun. We are appreciated for what we do here, and are told so frequently."
- Jaclyn, Human Resources (hired May 2008)
"AlloSource is a company focused on its mission of changing patient’s lives. To be part of something so impactful and to have such meaning given to the work you perform makes it a pleasure to be part of the AlloSource team. In nearly 25 years of working in the medical arena, no job nor organization has provided such inspiration and value. It is both, an honor and a responsibility to not be taken lightly to say, 'I am AlloSource.'"
- Dean, Director of Legal Affairs (hired December 2003)
"AlloSource is filled with experienced and talented people that appreciate a mission that is focused on honoring the gift of donation. AlloSource has allowed me to leverage my professional strengths across many different departments and has helped me direct my career path giving me the opportunity to gain valuable industry experience and relationships."
- Shane, Business Development Associate (hired February 2008)

I worked at AlloSource full-time (less than a year)Pros
There are three shifts to choose from and many positions, from technical to administrative. AlloSource provides life enhancing products.Cons
I came with 6 years experience and industry certification. This was not enough to promote more rapidly or earn more than someone without experience.Advice to ManagementAdvice
If your new employees come with experience you are looking for, like CTBS and other technical qualities, make their pay commensurate and turnover will decrease.RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEO

I applied through other source. The process took a day – interviewed at AlloSource.Interview Details
Each department has its own personality at AlloSource, and so the info here can only be applied to a few specific departments. Engineering, R&D, and Validation are all managed by similar personalities, and so this review can apply to them, but not elsewhere in the company.
A phone interview is quick, and is more about setting up the face-to-face interview than anything else. If you even have a phone interview.
When you get to the office, you are brought into one of the medium sized conference rooms, and either sit at the head of a table, or facing between 3 and 5 engineers. The department manager or director will lead the interview. Most of the department will be there, either coming and going as their schedules allow, or to sit through the entire thing. Managers from related technical departments may also sit in and ask questions.
The interview can last between an 1 to 2 hours. Technical skills are tested, but the real thing Allosource is looking for is personality. AlloSource is a small company, and has an excellent community spirit. People get along well, and there is a very pleasant culture. The managers want to keep that.
Technical questions are not too terribly tough, and generally center around how you would handle a hypothetical engineering problem (not so hypothetical if you get hired).
A second interview was not done. I was offered the job over a month after the interview. The delay was due to their own internal new employee intake procedure, which starts new people in batches every month.Interview Questions
Negotiation DetailsNone. This is a Non-For-Profit organization. Perhaps a director or above could negotiate, but don't expect to have much wiggle room.Accepted OfferPositive ExperienceDifficult Interview
