I have been working at Alro full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great place to work if in a non-union environment. Good pay and a decent work-life balance. Supervisors are there to help and work with you when you need help, whether it's at work, or needing time away due to unforseen circumstances.

    Cons

The company is setup to thrive in a non-union environment, but some locations allow unions. All the unions do is fight management on issues that shouldn't even matter. It causes constant problems and makes newer employees feel discouraged to work there because they always get the shaft when things go wrong. There is ABSOLUTELY NO work-life balance in the union environment. The benefits are the same as the non-union side, but cost 2 to 3 times more.

    Interview Details

You make an application on line. A week or so later you get an e mail asking for you to select a time to test. You take a twelve minute wonderlich test, measuring test, and a personality test. Next they email you, less than a week later, for a time scheduling an interview. The interview takes twenty to twenty five minutes. The Operations Manager and Superintendant ask questions of what you did in previous jobs and how do you feel about safety.
