    Pros

Laid back atmosphere, team oriented, there was a very short learning curve, and they got us interns active early in training associates, preparing and giving presentations, great managers, reasonable deadlines. The Burnsville body plant has nearly perfected the process.

    Cons

Sometime there are long gaps between assignments and projects. Burnsville is a terrible location, so you trade off living 45 minutes to an hour away from work or living in that stink hole.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeksinterviewed at Altec Industries (Ames, IA).

    Interview

Interview process was easy - met recruiters at the career fair and applied for an interview when they returned to campus. The interview itself was standard. My interviewer was very attentive and was great to talk to. They gave me a good feel for what the company culture and environment is like.

Altec's used equipment is sold through sister subsidiary National Utility Equipment Co., and rented through Global Rental Co., also in the Altec family. Altec offers financing, too, through Altec Capital Services. The equipment maker's production ... More
