I have been working at American Automobile Association (AAA) full-time (more than 5 years)

The biggest pro is the people that CSAA attracts and retains. Cooperative, friendly and team oriented -- the company does a very intentional job of maintaining this over time. The benefits are excellent as are the policies for work hours and to teleworking.

Leadership always seems to be lacking or handled by committee. Things can move at an excruciatingly slow pace.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Vision is great -- the company always has a great vision. The company appears to completely lack published strategies to reach those vision goals. Build and publish strategies, guidelines, and chains of accountability for their execution.

This isn't your great-grandfather's American Automobile Association (AAA). The not-for-profit organization is best known for providing emergency roadside assistance to its members. AAA is extending its reach into other areas, however, such as offering a variety of financial and travel-arrangement services (foreign currency exchange and travelers checks), as well. The organization offers its members credit cards, insurance, and vehicle financing. AAA operates travel agencies and publishes maps and travel guides, to boot.
