    Pros

    Benefits are amazing, culture, locations, vertical and horizontal movement, interaction with all levels, family owned for 150 years, friendly. You will work with many levels of management in any position and have opportunities to talk with senior leadership regularly.

    Cons

    Some software systems are not fully integrated with each other. Many positions are overtime exempt which can lead to longer hours without compensation or recognition.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Having donations collected in the lobby for various causes obligates associates to donate out of pity/embarrassment.

    I applied online. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at American Hotel Register in May 2014.

    Interview Details

    The interview process seemed backwards. I applied, 2 months later HR called me and wanted to screen me. Passed the phone screening, then I phone interviewed with the director of marketing. They said I would be in touch with HR. HR conducted a background check on me after the phone interview. The background check took over a week. Then on a Friday at 4pm, HR frantically called me wanting an interview at 8:30am on the following Monday. I agreed to the in person interview. It went great, I got a tour of where I would be starting the following monday and was asked where I wanted my desk to be. I stayed in contact with the director of marketing after my interview and they said HR would be contact with me. 2 days later they sent me a rejection leading. Talk about a total misleading HR department.
