    Pros

    Company was acquired by Lixil, a large Japanese company, which is focused on ensuring that American Standard and the rest of its brands are successful globally. In general the leadership team and key people in the organization are enthusiastic and focused on the right things.

    Cons

    Underinvestment in plants and people has led to critical situation in many parts of business. People are often risk averse and don't want to make waves.

    Advice to Management

    Keep pursuing the direction set by Jay Gould and his team. Continue integration with Lixil and make the company a global powerhouse.

    I applied online. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at American Standard Brands (Dallas, TX) in July 2013.

    Interview

    Phone screen with "contract" hiring agency, phone screen with hiring manager, face-to-face interview with hiring manager. This process took over 3 months - including long breaks in communication (when I thought I wasn't being considered any longer). The final determination came after emailing and calling the hiring agency recruiter to ask about the status - she must have felt sorry for me. She called me back and told me 'another candidate was selected.'
