A top-tier benefit plan is part of our overall commitment to understanding the needs of our people. Benefits are reviewed regularly to ensure they best meet the needs of our employees.

Wellness Program Paid Time Off Policy
Employees may set aside pre-tax dollars to be used to reimburse themselves for certain eligible medical or dental expenses incurred for themselves or, eligible dependent through a medical care reimbursement account. Employees may also set aside pre-tax dollars in a dependent care reimbursement account to help pay for certain day care or elder care expenses. American Tower offers comprehensive medical coverage, including Medical, Dental and Vision Plans. For medical coverage, American Tower utilizes ClGNA's OAP/Carelink network and covers 80% of the cost. Dental coverage is provided by Delta Dental, with 60% of the cost covered by American Tower. Vision coverage, provided by VSP, is employee paid on a pre-tax basis.
Charitable Matching Gift Program Education Assistance
As part of the Company's commitment to give back to the community, American Tower will match up to $1,000 per employee per calendar year for donations to charitable, non-profit organizations. Regularly scheduled full time employees are provided reimbursement of up to $5,250 per calendar year when taking certain work-related courses including those that are part of a work-related degree program.
Medical Reimbursement Plans Medical, Dental and Vision Coverage
To encourage a healthy lifestyle, employees and their dependents may submit certain expenses for reimbursement under the Wellness Program. These expenses include, but are not limited to, health club membership, smoking cessation, organized weight loss programs, massage therapy and much more. The maximum reimbursement is $300 per employee and $200 for their dependents, to a maximum of $500 per calendar year. Eligible employees accrue three weeks paid time off, or "flextime," per year, which can be used for vacation, sick or personal days (pro-rated based on hire date and for part-time employees). Employees may ”carry over" up to 40 hours of flextime to the following calendar year. In addition to fixed Company holidays and flextime, American Tower provides floating holidays for employees. Additional flextime is provided for Volunteer Days and School/ Elder Care Visitation, up to eight hours each.

    I worked at American Tower full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    I got to work with very friendly, intelligent people. The benefits were top notch, including a good health plan, wellness bonus, and other perks. Work/life balance was also great, my manager was flexible, and no one really watches your time as long as you're getting your work done.

    Cons

    Compensation was below industry average for Software Engineering. Too much red tape, effecting change on your own team's project requires approval from the top down from people who have no idea what you do, or the best way to accomplish your job.

    Don't be afraid to push for ownership and decision making power over your projects.
