  • The truth: Anchin is a really good place to work

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Anchin Block & Anchin full-time (More than 10 years)

I have been with Anchin for quite awhile and can tell you that the opportunities to succeed and thrive are very real. If you demonstrate technical expertise, responsibility, initiative, commitment and the ability to work well with people internally and externally, you will be in high demand with all the work you can handle. Initiative is important: Volunteer for projects rather than waiting to be asked; prioritize making the partners' lives easier and adding value to the firm, and you will be noticed in a good way. Reviewers who are concerned enough about "perks" to mention them here, or who feel they aren't getting a fair shake from HR, may want to reconsider their priorities and ask themselves honestly if they are doing anything via actions, words and attitude that makes people skeptical about working with them. Compensation ranges from fair to better than fair, and is rarely a source of complaint. The physical office environment is pretty good. Turnover is low for the industry, especially in the tax department. Upper management cares very much about employee satisfaction as this is a frequent topic at management group meetings; not every attempt is a home run but even small gestures like providing free fruit daily during busy season demonstrates that they look for ways to boost morale and make Anchin a better place to work.

This is not a 9-to-5 environment, and job commitments can cause the need to make personal sacrifices from time to time.

I applied through college or university. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Anchin Block & Anchin (New York, NY) in September 2015.

I went for campus interview at my school. Overalls, the interview is good. A director in auditing give me the interview. She has the personality to talk so I don't event try to make the conversation. In most time, we just talk and she share her personal experience and give me many useful advices. She did ask me some behavior questions but nothing hard. I kindly enjoy this interview.
