AMA's Coming Year is Filled With Changes! http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vITVB
Architects Stewart Ankrom and Tom Moisan formed Ankrom Moisan in 1983 to provide integrated architectural, interior design, and urban design services to our clients. The mission of Ankrom Moisan is simple: Create Places Where People and Communities Thrive. We believe that when we achieve this, we help our clients achieve success.
We are now a national firm of more than 200 staff members and offices in Portland and Seattle. Our portfolio includes award-winning mixed-use housing, condominiums, apartments, affordable housing, senior housing, student housing, healthcare, offices, hospitality, and retail. Much of our work is in urban environments and many of our projects include a mix of uses.
WE ARE ACTIVE, ENGAGED LISTENERS
We value the words of others, and pay attention when they speak. We encourage everyone to communicate with intention and purpose.
CURIOUSITY DRIVES OUR PURSUIT FOR UNDERSTANDING AND CONTINUAL IMPROVEMENT
We challenge each other, and our clients, with new ideas and solutions. We promote an environment of mutual learning through a community of openness and understanding. An inquisitive outlook encourages a creative environment.
OUR CULTURE SUPPORTS A POSITIVE WORK-LIFE BALANCE
The health of our people and business is fundamental to support our values and achieve our goals.
WE VALUE AN ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT AND THE POWER OF INDIVIDUALS TO MAKE A DIFFERNCE
We encourage people to pursue their passions and to stand up for their beliefs. We respect and value the different disciplines in the firm. Belief in the individual nurtures an energetic, passionate culture.
WE BELIEVE DESIGN CAN CHANGE PEOPLE'S LIVES - NOW AND FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS
We're committed to turning our ideas and passions into reality. With innovative design and leadership, we commit to making every project have a positive influence on our communities.
WE COLLABORATE WITH EACH OTHER, OUR CLIENTS AND COMMUNITIES
We are passionate people, with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. When we collaborate, we spark our best ideas and do our best work. Our future is in our collective hands.
As an employee of Ankrom Moisan Architects, your ability to adapt to an ever changing climate is valued. Our firm stays busy but fosters an environment of mentorship, fun, and internal camaraderie within the office.
Non-traditional office perks include design shares and pinups, bike storage, transit pass, unlimited coffee, the occasional treats, volunteer opportunities, monthly events, and so much more.
Our turnover is low and morale high. We have “Design Crawls” and other gatherings to showcase project we are working on and provide opportunities for suggestions. These events allow for the firm to interact across disciplines and build firm friendships.

Wonderful people! Everyone is very friendly! They use Revit, but have a very structured approach to using Revit.... at least it's better than a firm that still uses AutoCrap. The projects are ok, depends on who you're working with (team). Overall, very pleasant company to work for. They promote mindfulness and no egos. An architecture firm that doesn't promote egos?!? I know, I didn't believe it at first but everyone here is kind and helpful. No egos allowed!!!
Office location, but that's changing Spring 2016! AMA is moving to downtown Portland along the waterfront in a building they designed!!!
Advice to Management
Keep it going!

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Ankrom Moisan Architects (Seattle, WA) in February 2015.
I had submitted my portfolio and a cover letter and mentioned that my employer at the time was under paying me. I found the job through AIA Seattle and checked my salary based on the city standard set by them. My portfolio, attitude, and mastery of the programs I am responsible for were evaluated during an in person interview. My interviewers were very kind and great at listening. They also generally knew all of the programs I would be using. This is very rare I've found and certainly helped my case.
