I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Ann Taylor.
I found out about the job through an online search on the company's database. After passing the online component, I was called in for an in-store interview. My interviewer was the manager of the store, and asked me the questions that mainly dealt with my experience in past retail (I had only had one prior job, at a small grocery store). Make sure to emphasize the fact that you know how to be an authority on clothing/fashion, and am capable of developing a personalized experience for every employee (make them feel special; anticipate their wants/need) while also working as part of a team trying to make sales quotas. All I did in preparation was review glassdoor questions and looked up the styles/values of the store. There are plenty of stock/finance websites in which the values of the company are outlined, if you don't want to go through their whole website.

ANN knows that basic black is as appreciated by its customers as its classic styles. The company is a national retailer of upscale women's clothing, shoes, and accessories designed exclusively for its Ann Taylor and LOFT stores. The Ann Taylor brand targets fashion-conscious career women through about 360 stores (about 90 are Factory outlet locations), while the LOFT brand offers "upper-moderate-priced" casual apparel through some 560 stores (60 of which are outlets).
