In many countries, including the UK, Australia and India, field representatives are contracted on a self-employed basis through the Appco Group network of Marketing Companies (MCs).

Field representative responsibilities
As a field representative – regardless of whether you're contracted on a self-employed basis or employed by Appco – you will promote and sell products and services for, and on behalf of, Appco Group's clients.
To assist you in promoting and selling our clients' products and services, you will be provided with client product training and mentoring, as well as opportunities and support to set up and run your own business, if you choose.
We have developed a comprehensive results-driven sales campaign framework that is proven time and time again to be the most cost-effective channel in the marketing mix.
Our teams of professional field representatives receive ongoing support and product coaching. They also have regular contact with our clients, ensuring they are always at the heart of the businesses and charities they represent.

Chairman and Founder
As the Founder and Chairman of the Cobra Group of Companies, Chris sets the strategic direction and ensures the objectives of every business within the Group are met.
Appco Group is the direct sales and marketing subsidiary of the Cobra Group of Companies. In 1987, as a 22-year-old, Chris started his direct sales business in Sydney, Australia, with the vision of one day building it into the world’s largest and most successful sales and marketing company.
Mike BlaneManaging Director, Appco Group International
Mike started his direct sales career in 1990 in Sydney, Australia, and quickly developed a passion and flair for the sales and marketing industry. He was one of the key players in the significant growth of the Australian and New Zealand business during the early 90s and, along with Chris Niarchos and his senior team, laid the foundations for Appco's global expansion.
Following his tremendous achievements in these markets, Mike moved to the UK in May 1996 and was appointed Managing Director of Cobra Group in 1999.
As Global Chief Executive Officer, Paul is responsible for ensuring Cobra Group’s strategic and tactical objectives are delivered.
Reporting to the Chairman and Board of Directors, he oversees the corporate governance, performance and risk management of the company’s core businesses and strategic investments. Paul also works closely with Cobra Group’s executive team across all traditional corporate functions.

I applied online. The process took 3 days – interviewed at Appco Group (San Francisco, CA) in April 2015.
Phone interview then in person interview. Decided not to go when asked for base salary and was told $35/day plus commission. Thanks to other Glassdoor reviewers who helped save me a lot of time. If you don't like pyramid schemes, this is not the job for you.
When they told me I had great interpersonal skills, I should have known it's a scam. Seeing as my parents don't even think I'm good with other people.
