Self-employment opportunities

In many countries, including the UK, Australia and India, field representatives are contracted on a self-employed basis through the Appco Group network of Marketing Companies (MCs).

In some countries in which we operate, including the USA and Canada, field representatives are employed directly by Appco Group. 

Field representative responsibilities

As a field representative – regardless of whether you're contracted on a self-employed basis or employed by Appco – you will promote and sell products
 and services for, and on behalf of, Appco Group's clients.

To assist you in promoting and selling our clients' products and services, you will be provided with client product training and mentoring, as well as opportunities and support to set up and run your own business, if you choose.

Chairman and Founder

Board of Directors
As the Founder and Chairman of the Cobra Group of Companies, Chris sets the strategic direction and ensures the objectives of every business within the Group are met.

Appco Group is the direct sales and marketing subsidiary of the Cobra Group of Companies. In 1987, as a 22-year-old, Chris started his direct sales business in Sydney, Australia, with the vision of one day building it into the world’s largest and most successful sales and marketing company.

 Mike started his direct sales career in 1990 in Sydney, Australia, and quickly  developed a passion and flair for the sales and marketing industry. He was  one of the key players in the significant growth of the Australian and New  Zealand business during the early 90s and, along with Chris Niarchos and  his senior team, laid the foundations for Appco's global expansion. 

 Following his tremendous achievements in these markets, Mike moved to the UK in May 1996 and was appointed Managing Director of Cobra Group in 1999.

Global Chief Executive Officer, Appco Group and The Cobra Group of Companies

As Global Chief Executive Officer, Paul is responsible for ensuring Cobra Group’s strategic and tactical objectives are delivered.

Reporting to the Chairman and Board of Directors, he oversees the corporate governance, performance and risk management of the company’s core businesses and strategic investments. Paul also works closely with Cobra Group’s executive team across all traditional corporate functions.

‘Be Something More’ is not only part of our company, but it is also something that is a major part of my life and it is incredibly special for me.
 
When I was a young lad at home – about eight years old – my brother and I wanted posters on our bedroom walls, but my mum said, “No. It’s my house, no posters, you’ve got to keep your room looking immaculate.”
 
 
 
 
 
 
Then one day she came home and she said, “I’ve got a poster for you.”And the poster she gave to both of us had the phrase ‘Be Something More’ on it. It was on my bedroom wall and on my brother’s bedroom wall until both of us left home.
 
This is even more significant to me now because I lost both my parents in the last 18 months. Both of them were in their late 80s and they had a great life and ‘Be Something More’ was something they taught and showed me.
 
To them, it didn’t matter who you were, or what your line of work was. It didn’t matter if you wanted to be a doctor or solicitor, an engineer, a painter, or a musician. All that mattered was that you strived to ‘Be Something More’; to do something for your community, to do something for yourself and be more than a person who goes through life just going through the motions.
 
I decided to make ‘Be Something More’ the catchphrase for the whole company because I think it does completely personify what we do and it reflects what so many people in our company around the world do. It is also now part of what we describe as  The Cobra Foundation.
 
The Cobra Foundation is something we started many years ago to support great causes around the world. Some of those great causes have included, building schools in the Philippines, and supporting orphanages in Laos and projects for Aboriginal communities in northern Australia.
 
We’ve also helped the victims of the devastating fires in Victoria in Australia a couple of years ago, as well as the flood victims in the UK earlier this year – and we’re always on the look-out for great causes to support to truly demonstrate my parents’ mantra – and the  Appco Group motto – to ‘Be Something More’.

    Pros

    Exciting and upbeat company where firsthand learning from managers and leaders are free. Working side by side a manager or a leader is also a privilege and you get to see that what they teach, they also apply.

    Cons

    Er.. Maybe have a coffee pot and unlimited access? :)

    I applied online. The process took 3 daysinterviewed at Appco Group (San Francisco, CA) in April 2015.

    Interview

    Phone interview then in person interview. Decided not to go when asked for base salary and was told $35/day plus commission. Thanks to other Glassdoor reviewers who helped save me a lot of time. If you don't like pyramid schemes, this is not the job for you.

    When they told me I had great interpersonal skills, I should have known it's a scam. Seeing as my parents don't even think I'm good with other people.
