    Recommends

    Pros

High end grocer with a focus on quality and outstanding customer service. Many employees made a lifetime career with Gelsons

    Cons

Too many changes to long term upper management caused the company to head in a different direction.

    Advice to Management

Empower employees to be decision makers and have less micromanaging. Encourage more of a life/work balance with more flextime.

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Arden Group.

    Interview

Went in store to get an application. Filled it out at home and brought it in a few days later. I had to call almost every day for a month before I got an interview with the store manager. He was very nice and asked me what my schedule is like, then hired me on the spot.

    Interview Questions

    Negotiation

There is no negotiation. You get the salary they offer you, but you get a raise every few months.

The company converted its last Mayfair Markets store to the Gelson's ... More
