I have been working at Aronson & Co full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great work / life balance in comparison to Big 4 firm I worked for previously. Plenty of opportunities to contribute to the business - not just limited to client engagements. Firm leadership appears committed to the same strategic direction/vision. Collegial culture. Have control and say in your own career development and advancement.

    Cons

Public accounting services are competitive and to a degree, commoditized and therefore there are additional pressures placed on the business. Wish the office was closer to DC.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to communicate strategic direction on a regular basis. Consider opening another office to be closer to VA and DC clients. Continue to recognize staff for accomplishments. It's really great to have personal touch and to interact with firm leadership on a regular basis.

    Interview Details

After a phone interview I was invited for an office interview with 3-4 people back-to-back. Most of the people asked me basic behavioral questions but one guy asked me to do a few journal entries. I felt pretty good about the interview and the HR guy told me they would make a decision the next week. I haven't heard back from then since (now 2 months later). It was highly unprofessional and discourteous of them not to tell me their decision.
