Healthcare Benefits

Medical/Dental, Voluntary Vision, and Voluntary AD&D Premiums

Allows you to pay for AJGCo. Medical/Dental, Voluntary Vision, and Voluntary AD&D on a pre-tax basis.

Healthcare Flexible Spending Account

Allows you to set aside up to $8,000 of your pay each calendar year on a pre-tax basis to pay for eligible, unreimbursed Medical/Dental/Vision expenses. For employees who select a Health Savings Account option, only Dental and Vision expenses are eligible for pre-tax reimbursement until the annual deductible has been met.

Short-Term Disability

From 2 to 26 weeks of full or half salary, based on length of service.

Long-Term Disability

  • 60% of salary up to a $15,000 monthly maximum.
  • Payable to age 65 for accident and/or sickness after an initial 26-week qualifying period.

Insurance Coverage

Basic Life, AD&D, Dependent Life Insurance

  • Basic Life equal to 1½ times your annual earnings up to $1 million.
  • AD&D equal to an additional 1½ times your annual earnings up to $1 million.
  • Dependent life equal to:
    • $5,000 for spouse or domestic partner.
    • $2,500 for each eligible dependent child

Business Travel Accident Insurance

AD&D equal to 5 times your annual earnings, up to $1 million ($250,000 minimum), when traveling on company business.

Voluntary Group Universal Life (GUL) Insurance

  • Available in multiples of 1 to 8 times your salary up to $600,000, and up to $2.5 million with evidence of good health.
  • Universal feature allows tax-deferred cash accumulation, loan and withdrawal provisions, and special retirement payout options.
    • Spouse or domestic partner and child(ren) options also available.
    • Portability option.

Voluntary Auto/Homeowners Insurance

  • Auto and homeowners insurance can be purchased at discounted group rates.

Voluntary Accidental (AD&D) Insurance

  • Coverage available in multiples of $10,000 up to $1 million.
  • Amounts greater than $350,000 cannot exceed 10 times annual salary.
  • Dependent coverages.
  • Spouse or domestic partner: 60% of employee's coverage.
  • Children: 20% of employee's coverage.

Long-Term Care Insurance (LTC) Insurance

  • Long-term care insurance provides protection for the high cost of long-term care expenses (nursing homes, assisted-living facilities or home-care provider expenses).
  • Employees who enroll within 60 days of hire will be eligible for guaranteed issue coverage; simplified underwriting for spouses.
  • Genworth Life Insurance Company offers employees and eligible family members a variety of plan options at affordable group rates.

Financial & Retirement

401(k) Retirement Savings and Thrift Plan

  • You can contribute up to 75% of eligible compensation plus, if age 50 or older, make additional catch-up contributions.
  • Pre-tax and Roth after-tax contributions are allowed.
  • Eligible rollovers accepted.
  • 26 investment options.
  • Loan provision.
  • You will be automatically enrolled to contribute 5% of your compensation when you are eligible for company matching. You have the ability to increase/decrease or opt out.
  • Company match is up to 100% of the first 5% of your earnings, based on your elected contributions.
  • Vesting in the value of the company match and associated investment earnings is 20% per year (100% vested after five years).

Employee Stock Purchase Plan

  • You can purchase Gallagher stock at a 5% discount off the fair market value.
  • Dividends are automatically reinvested.
  • Quarterly purchase/enrollment periods.
  • All transactions handled through Fidelity Investments.

Time Off

Vacation

  • First calendar year: after 90 days - .833 day per month.
  • 1-4 years: 2 weeks.
  • 5-14 years: 3 weeks.
  • 15 or more years: 4 weeks.

Holidays

The company issues a holiday schedule in December for the following year.

Dependent Daycare Flexible Spending Account

Allows you to set aside up to $5,000 of your pay each calendar year on a pre-tax basis to pay for eligible dependent daycare expenses. 

Transit Passes and/or Parking Reimbursement

Allows you to set aside up to $125 pre-tax per month for Transit Passes and/or $240 pre-tax per month for Parking Reimbursement for your work commute. (Dollar limits subject to change by IRS.)

  • Confidential intervention and counseling services provided by ComPsych® (up to 10 sessions).
    • Confidential information and support for financial, legal and family concerns.

Voluntary Group Legal

  • Provides employees and family members with legal services through Hyatt Legal Plans.
  • Network and Out-of-Network benefits are available.
  • In general, this covers such services as estate planning, real estate transactions or other financial matters; family law; consumer protection; and defense of civil lawsuits or traffic offenses, among other things. 

Education Assistance

  • Approved job-related courses reimbursed at 100%.
  • Bonuses may be paid for professional designations such as CPCU, CEBS, ARM, etc.

Charitable Gifts Program

  • 100% Company match of your contributions of $50 or more to eligible charities, up to $1,000 per employee per year.

More than 85 years ago, my grandfather, Arthur J. Gallagher, opened his own insurance agency. His philosophy was to really get to know his clients.     The process was efficient and very clear in their instructions. The interviewers were nice, but also tough. They really seek out great salespeople. Some of the questions are challenging, but just be confident, and you're fine. Make sure to do your research and know how to sell, and be ready to interview as a salesperson.
