In 1996, the Asbury Automotive Group was started by a group of automotive executives who believed in the power of a dealer partnership that stretched from coast to coast. Today, Asbury is one of the largest automotive retailers in the United States and one of the hottest.
Presently, the Asbury Automotive Group operates 28 automotive brands and 97 franchises in 10 states including Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Jersey, Mississippi, Missouri, Texas and Virginia. Asbury is headquartered in Atlanta, GA.
Through its 9 individually-branded dealer groups, many of which are some of the most respected names in their markets, Asbury sells, finances and services a diverse range of foreign and domestic automotive brands. For the driven and ambitious, it presents a unique opportunity to get on the fast track to management growth, success and exponential financial gain.
You have the world of business in front of you, with one chance to make your mark. Before you decide which corner of the retail world you want to conquer, consider the following:
Total annual retail sales of automobiles in the U.S. are approximately $1 trillion - twice as large as the supermarket industry and 10 times larger than consumer electronics.
Asbury is a multi-billion dollar, publicly-traded company (NYSE:ABG) whose innovative management structure gives managers the flexibility to run day-to-day operations with the support and economies-of-scale of a larger corporate infrastructure. This promotes and rewards the entrepreneurial spirit as well as team accomplishment.
Asbury is capitalizing on a high proportion of luxury and midline import franchises and should generate above-average revenue growth. Our platform brands are leaders in their markets, and with incentivized management at every level, Asbury is primed for growth both organically and through acquisition

I have been working at Asbury Automotive full-time (More than a year)
The reason why I love my position is the people. I've grown with them professionally and learned more about them personally during the past 2 years at the Nalley Lexus-Galleria location. The service managers are excellent leading our department in the direction of positive successful business practices. The benefits are good in terms of 401k, insurance, dental, and vision. The way our service department provides some of the best customer service in the South East territory, and the group that I work with are passionate about it. We all make it fun and interesting where there is never a dull day. The people I work with on a daily basis is like a second family to me. It's a pleasure to work the long hours that I do and still be motivated to do what is it that I do, while still having fun.
It can be stressful at times. But all jobs involve some amount of stress. It's not easy being a service consultant, and it takes a certain kind of personality to do it effectively and efficiently.
Getting an Interview
Getting an Interview
- Accepted OfferPositive ExperienceAverage Interview
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Asbury Automotive (Tampa, FL).
You sit with several managers in succession, each asking different questions and engaging you in conversation about topics that deal with your personal drive to the sales process and frustrations in previous jobs. They want you to engage in developing rapport and selling yourself to them. The purpose of the interview is to gauge your ability to make people like you and to maintain control of a conversation by asking questions. Once you feel they are finished with the interview, it is your job to ask for the job, and to get a commitment from the General Sales Manager or GM. If you fail to do this, they may not hire you. Always ask for the job, or ask if there is any reason why they would not hire you today. This is essentially what you will have to ask a buyer after you have gone through the sales process.
- what did you do the last time you had a problem with a co worker? Answer Question
