    Pros

    You can study and work at the same time. Most of the time your research work will benefit your education and help your grades.

    Cons

    I can't really think of any cons other than working for a professor that you might have classes with later. This can lead to worrying over your work meshing with your studies, but professors are usually, well, professional.
