What used to be an awesome little high-tech company is still pretty good.

I have been working at Authentix full-time (more than 5 years)

The company is well backed and aggressively managed for success and growth. The core technologies are impressive, valuable, interesting, and fun, if you're a lover of math, science, and technology, as I am. The company is growing but still feels small and entrepreneurial. Some of the people are stellar. Most are good, respectable, fun, cooperative, etc. There are a few moderately annoying quasi-jerks, but you might never really notice.

"Aggressively managed" means that there's no coddling of mediocre contributors. If your work isn't valuable to the company's future success, you'd better look for another employer. Some of the genuine fun and frolic of previous years have evaporated, replaced by a cordial but rather forced "employee friendly" culture. We used to have alcohol on campus and frequent fairly hilarious parties, often rather spontaneously. Now we have "team-building events."

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring back real fun and fellowship. or at least give it a good try. Drop the cheap, thinly disguised imitation of camaraderie.
