    I have been working at Avid Technology full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    -Working with some of the greatest products and people in the industry. -Flexible work arrangements. -Opportunities for advancement appear relatively often - especially into product management. -Helping people make music and movies. -Employee discount. -Good benefits. -Bonus Plan.

    Cons

    -I've watched some serious talent walk out the door - either of their own accord or after a layoff. -Headcount is lean and everyone is doing multiple jobs = high stress and some grumpy people. -Morale is up and down. -There's always a fear of more layoffs, which tends to influence thoughts and actions. This seems to be diminishing, thankfully.

    Advice to Management

    Remember to listen to the customers and give them what they really want from Avid. Thank you for opening more offices and hiring more people. Make sure you appropriately replace people who've left in recent years, and do whatever you can to retain the talent left in the company - especially the developers. Back-fill vacated positions whenever possible.

    I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Avid Technology.

    Interview

    Was supposed to meet with 4 different people, but the 2nd person never showed up so I sat in the conference room for an awkward amount of time until the 3rd person showed. Did not seem like there was much communication between these 4 people, including HR. The people I did meet with were very nice, however I would never work there. Didn't get a good vibe. The interview overall was almost 3 hours long.
