~ The BAYADA Way

While we are a large group representing many care disciplines, all BAYADA professionals share the same commitment to one unique philosophy. Aptly named The BAYADA Way, everything we do hinges on our fundamental philosophy centered on delivering care with compassion, excellence, and reliability. It is the foundational compass for our company, articulated by the current generation of BAYADA, to be passed down to colleagues who carry on this important work in the future. It empowers our employees to come to work every day invigorated with a deep-seated sense of purpose, because when you enter someone’s home, you enter their lives.

What you may not know about BAYADA is how many ways there are to cultivate relationships and bring your unique expertise to help change the face of the home health industry. And that’s true whether you’re delivering the highest quality care in our clients’ homes as a nurse, therapist, medical social worker, or specialist in habilitation, hospice, or assistive care, or even in marketing, sales, or one of our many other non-clinical support roles. And we’ll empower you to take your career to the next level with a supportive environment, state-of-the-art technologies, and ample opportunity for growth.

We offer careers for Nurses in both the office and our clients’ homes, including Director level positions, Clinical Managers, Clinical Liaisons, Registered Nurses, Clinical Associates, LPNs and more. Specialty practices include Home Health Care, Pediatrics, Hospice, Habilitation, and Staffing.

Working at BAYADA Home Health Care, you’ll be challenged to deliver clinical excellence for clients with a variety of conditions, from those with acute diagnoses to others who need daily support. Equipped with cutting-edge technology including tablet computers to document and access all client data, you’ll be empowered to maximize your efficiency so you can get back to what’s most important – the client. You’ll work autonomously, but with the training, support, coaching, and clinical ladder you need to further your development, with a very flexible schedule and care assignments close to your home.

We offer careers in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, and Rehab Management.

As a BAYADA Therapist, you’ll help clients remain in the comfort of their own homes. That’s because in this position, it will be your responsibility to restore clients’ independence and dignity. It’s the best part of providing care in the home. At the end of each day, you get to see a tangible difference. At BAYADA Home Health Care, our therapists know that when you enter a client’s home, you’re dealing with their whole life. That’s why you’ll approach client care holistically as you partner with a team of clinicians and therapists to ensure that our clients get better as soon as possible. Our 24-hour clinical support and state-of-the-art technology, including a tablet computer, will position you to provide the best care possible as you can easily and efficiently document client care and access all patient data.

Social Work

As a social worker with BAYADA Home Health Care, you’ll ensure that our clients feel deeply and holistically cared for right in their homes. That’s because you’ll address their every need, working collaboratively with a team of care professionals. By providing psychological, social, and physical support for clients and their families, the difference you make in their lives is invaluable. The one-on-one connections you’ll forge with clients are what set BAYADA apart. Keeping our values of compassion, excellence, and reliability at the heart of your work, you’re an integral part of our home health care team that helps to keep us ahead of the curve. We’ll recognize your contributions whether you work full-time (36+ hours per week), part-time (25+ hours per week), or per diem with 24-hour clinical support and opportunities for advancement.

Non-Clinical Support

When you work in a non-clinical support role, your position may range from director to manager to client services, or you may land in human resources, information technology, or accounting and finance. But at BAYADA Home Health Care, all of these roles have something valuable in common. At the end of the day, their hard work and dedication change lives. Whether that’s from behind a computer screen ensuring we have the resources we need, on the phone with a prospective client, or in front of a potential new employee. Where else can you say you helped make a difference in thousands of people’s lives? That’s why we reward you with a collaborative and empowering environment that offers endless opportunities to advance your career.

Thanks to our marketing and sales team at BAYADA Home Health Care, it comes as no surprise that we are considered a leader in home health care. Able to get more then 40 hours per week if flexible and the most "employee" friendly, and highest quality vs competitors

I have been working at BAYADA Home Health Care full-time (more than 3 years)

-Viable alternative if for those wishing to get away from facility work.
-Interesting high acuity cases available in Pediatrics, lots to learn if you prefer a challenge. Great way to break into peds if you are looking to get into a peds facility or hospital.
-Opportunity to really make a difference in a patient's life. Big shortage of trained specialized peds nurses at present. Almost never enough nurses to go around. The families really rely on you and are so grateful for good nurses to care for their sick child so they can work/rest. We spend more time with the patient then any other care provider, so our imput is valued and important when it comes to treatment decisions.
-One of the few agency's that i have come across that offer REAL health insurance and benefits...most agency's now prefer to keep everyone PRN now so that they dont have to pay for health insurance.
-They are selective about which cases they take. They will refuse a case if deemed an unsafe environment for the nurses.
-Emphesis on employee safety. Training is available to all as much as needed. You are backed up by management if you have to make a tough decision, for the safety of you or the patient.
-typically have access to internet overnight...would be able to get some studying in if you are in school, infact, may be ideal for students.
-Experienced nurses on the field team and in management...good resource always available to you 24/7 (on-call)

*Note: As with most jobs, conditions vary depending on what office you work what may happen in one place (a bad review) may not be a true reflection of the average employee experience.

-First few months are a bit rough schedule wise until you build up to 3 or 4 cases to choose from which means more places that you can work.
-Pay scale for home-health is lower then national average for nurses but not for this industry.
-Ergonomics of the home a challenge depending on setup...for instance cribs with siderails that dont go up and down, ect. You have to work with whatever is in the home.
-Parents are the boss kinda have to be willing to cooperate with their household requests regardless of how trivial they may be in your opinion. Not that big of a deal. If using a certain blanket or bottle ect makes them feel happy then why not comply?
-Some of the schedulers can be quite pushy trying to get you to work more or do a switch to get all their shifts filled but you are not obligated to work any shift or case you dont want to. I just resent their tactics at times,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Raise the payscale to the average RN or LPN rates..Its hard to retain good nurses when their are so many places we could be working instead and make alot more money.
-Monitor the CSM's. Incentive based scheduling is not a great system..Think smarter if you want to grow your business! They can and will say and do anything to get the shifts filled because it means more money for them...regardless of safety. Guess what? If a nurse has been on the schedule 10 days in a row or 54 hours in one week, and they decline a request to pick up another shift then you should respect that and not make them feel bad. I can work alot more if you dont burn me out in the long run!
-Fix your paperwork system. No reason to be driving extra time off the clock to drop off time slips. Look into a better system.
