I have been working at BCD Travel full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

I've been with the company more than 12 years, and have held several different jobs. I have had the privilege of working with many hard-working and talented individuals and have made lots of friends.

    Cons

I wouldn't recommend a job in the travel industry if your primary goal is to get rich and travel the world for free using industry perks. This is a demanding and rapidly changing industry. The days of free upgrades on flights and free hotel rooms is a thing of the past. The salaries here are not great, but not bad either, and they are in line with the rest of the industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There's not a college degree that exists in this world that can take the place of experience in this industry and any seasoned veteran in this business knows that. Mentorships are going to be critical if you want to groom the 35-and-under talent pool. Please don't let your most talented and senior employees leave for the competition in order to hire someone with much less experience for less money.
