I have been working at BMI (New York) part-time

    Pros

The leadership is excellent, the pay is more than fair for part time work and the name alone on one's resume looks great within the industry.

    Cons

HR processes are quite slow and many of the available jobs are remote which slows overall productivity and leaves little hope for promotion.

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at BMI (New York).

    Interview Details

The hiring process (3 interviews total) was very professional and much more laid back than I expected. I was prepared to answer anything from my knowledge of the music industry and music publishing, and instead they first and foremost wanted to know about me, my interests, and questions and concerns I had.

    Interview Questions
    • The head of our department asked me, "What do you want to know about us?" I was so focused on the business side and what I could offer, that I almost didn't have a good question for them about what I needed to know about the company. Just be prepared to show your personality/human side as well as be knowledgeable about the industry.   Answer Question
